This is my entry for the 8-bit design challenge.
A higher quality version of the print can be viewed here:
[link]The inspiration for the design came from the box art of the "black box" NES games. For example, Super Mario Bros., Kung Fu, Duck Hunt, Excitebike, Ice Climber, etc.
Everything in the design was created from scratch by me. The only thing that wasn't created by me is the text that says "DEVIANT ART". I used one of the pre-installed fonts for that, which I believe is acceptable.
The pixel art was created in MS Paint and GraphicsGale and then enlarged and put together in Photoshop CS5.
If you like the design, please vote for it, it would be very much appreciated. (:
Hmm... I thought some people might be a little put off by the light green background, but it doesn't look as much like the box art of a NES game without it. :S
I'm not sure how it can be cleaned up, though. It's 8-bit, it's supposed to be pixelated and it's as sharp as it can be.
I meant that because there are a lot of those things I call "jaggies"
Ahh, [link] this is what I mean xD sorry, I'm not sure how to explain.
It's a nice entry, nontheless
I'm going to experiment with some shading, too.
I'm new to pixel art, so I'm still trying to get the hang of it.
Pixelling is fun, but it's a bit hard sometimes ksjbdsd
there are a few awesome tutorials around here c:
